CHILD ADVOCATES, DENVER CASA TO PARTICIPATE IN FIRST-EVER COLORADO GIVES DAY

New initiative to raise $1 million for Colorado nonprofits

Denver, CO – Child Advocates, Denver CASA announces its support of the first-ever Colorado Gives Day – a new initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, CO Gives Day is a 24-hour period to “give where you live” by making online donations to the hundreds of charities featured on Community First Foundation’s online giving resource called GivingFirst.org. As a profiled charity on GivingFirst.org, Child Advocates, Denver CASA will benefit from this initiative and the $1 million in one day fundraising goal.

“We are very excited to be a part of the first-ever Colorado Gives Day. Child Advocates, Denver CASA has an added bonus of utilizing donations made this day with another matching challenge given by another donor. We could almost triple the gifts given on December 8th,” states Lisa O’Dell Davis, Executive Director of Child Advocates, Denver CASA.

Kenneth W. Eggeman, President & CEO of Community First Foundation expressed his excitement around CO Gives Day by saying, “We created this concept, along with our partner FirstBank, to address the growing needs of our state’s nonprofit sector. Now is the time to increase charitable giving in Colorado and we believe that Colorado Gives Day will allow us to achieve this goal. We are grateful for the support of the nonprofit sector and from the individual charities profiled on GivingFirst.org – together we will raise much need funds for Colorado nonprofits.”
