Partnership with The Denver Santa Claus Shop Ensures Children have Gifts on Christmas
Denver, CO (December 13, 2010) – Even Santa needs a little help during the holidays. Denver Zoo’s Kibongi Market Gift Shop is partnering with The Denver Santa Claus Shop to make sure every child has a gift to open this Christmas. Guests are encouraged to purchase an item and donate it to The Denver Santa Claus Shop, a local nonprofit. A portion of each purchase also supports Denver Zoo’s daily operations and mission to secure a better world for animals through human understanding.
Shopping for these gifts will be an adventure! Kibongi Market is a two-story gift shop with a wide selection of toys, art and apparel. Guests can find items such as stuffed animals, action figures and puzzles. Plush animals and toys are conveniently merchandised by region making your shopping experience easy, fun and educational. The Market is also holding a 30 percent off storewide holiday sale through December 25. Members can get 40 percent off. No additional discounts apply and this offer excludes promotional items. Denver Zoo admission is not required to shop the Kibongi Market.
Denver Santa Claus Shop is a volunteer-run, nondenominational nonprofit organization that shares the spirit of Christmas with local children in need – helping well over 1 million youngsters in their 80-year history. Their mission is that every childshould have a toy at Christmas. Last year, nearly 18,000elementary school-aged children received toys from The Shop. They expect to help even more youngsters this year.
Each fall, hundreds of volunteers collect toys and donations, and then build a huge temporary toy store – The Denver Santa Claus Shop. Families are referred to The Shop by social service agencies, and parents are invited to The Shop to choose toys for their children.
