DENVER, CO (January 3, 2011)—AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)—along with its Out of the Closet Thrift Store Chain—is proud to announce a partnership between the Foundation’s JEANS FOR LIFE donation drive and The Blues Jean Bar. Throughout the month of January, five locations of The Blues Jean Bar—including the Denver stores—are offering discounts to those who donate jeans to the campaign: 10% off for one pair of jeans, 15% for two pairs and 20% for three or more pairs donated. The Denver Blues Jean Bar stores are located at: Cherry Creek North, 250 Fillmore Street and Southglenn, 2154 E. Commons Ave., Unit B3-321 in Centennial.

The jeans are being collected in “jeans-inspired” bins located at each store. Donated jeans will be sold through AHF’s popular Out of the Closet Thrift Stores—which includes 20 locations in California and Florida.

“AHF is pleased to launch its latest donation drive JEANS FOR LIFE – and to kick off the year with this partnership with The Blues Jean Bar in four cities,” said Michael Weinstein, President of AIDS Healthcare Foundation. “We hope that the spirit of the new year inspires people from across the country to take this small step that will have a big impact on the fight against AIDS. Ninety-sixcents of every dollar earned by the re-sale of donated jeans will go directly to providing HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care in the U.S. and around the world”

“We are thrilled to start 2011 off strong with The Blues Jean Bar partnership and look forward to making January a big month for the JEANS FOR LIFE donation drive,” said Dana Miller who is spearheading the campaign for AHF. “We want to thank The Blues Jean Bar and its creator Lady Fuller for their generosity and for encouraging their customer-base to participate in this fun, easy and important way to contribute to the care of people living with HIV/AIDS.”

JEANS FOR LIFE is a unique fundraising campaign built on the belief that everyone has jeans and most have a few pair that need a new home. Whether they’re blue, red, faded or acid-washed, the JEANS FOR LIFE campaign needs them!

The Blues Jean Bar is a denim specialty store developed by jean lover, Lady Fuller. Lady was born and raised in New Orleans with a unique blend of genes from her renowned businessman father and fashion model mother. Armed with an MBA, fashion connections, and a unique sense of style, Lady grew tired of shopping all over the nation for that perfect pair of denim. She created The Blues Jean Bar to be not just a boutique, but a safe haven for people in search of a cozy atmosphere to find a perfect pair of blues. The store’s tag line, Denim on Tap, grasps the individuality that the Blues Jean Bar has to offer.

"We're so excited to be partnering with AIDS Healthcare Foundation!” said The Blues Jean Bar creator Lady Fuller. “The Jeans for Life denim drive is a great opportunity to update your jean collection after the holidays and support a wonderful cause!"

Other businesses and organizations hosting jean donation drop-off bins include: In California—Pavilions, Balliamos, Rough Trade, Beth Chayim Chadashim, West Hollywood City Hall, Metropolitan Community Church and several Darque Tan locations. In Florida—Sidelines Sports Bar, Georgie’s Alibi, Bill’s Filling Station, The New Moon and Rosie’s Bar & Grill. Other participating entities include: HBO, Eleven, Motherlode, Corporate Pointe, Sunset Media Tower, Northridge Business Center and America’s Funniest Home Videos.

The JEANS FOR LIFE campaign received some local support last year when Project Runway Season 8 contestant—Denver’s own Mondo Guerra—endorsed the campaign and incorporated a JEANS FOR LIFEfundraiser during hisSeason Finale Viewing Party a the Beauty Bar in Denver in October. During the Project Runway season, Mondo moved viewers when he incorporated ‘plus’ signs in his fabric and dress design, revealing to the judging panel—and the world—that he is HIV-positive.
