Denver, May 6, 2011-A fund-raiser for United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked and crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania on 9/11, will be open to the public, at Perkins Restaurant located at 1495 Simms Street (South West Corner of Simms Street and Colfax Avenue) in Golden on Monday,June 6th, 2011.
Organizer Josh Miller, 31 of Lakewood, who has ties to the story of Flight 93, says the fundraiser was planned months before the death of Osama bin Laden, although he acknowledges that this event has begun a new dialogue in the American experience. Miller says the funds raised, 15% of an attendee's dining bill, will be donated directly from Perkins to the Families of Flight 93, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The money will benefit the completion of the Flight's permanent memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Most specifically, The Tower of Voices to be located at the entrance of the Memorial. A 93 foot tower containing 40 aluminum wind chimes, representing the voices of the passengers, will represent the sounds of the last seconds of the flight's cockpit voice recorder.
Coupons are free, available and necessary for an attendee's bill to go toward the fundraiser. Diners can use the coupon at any time during the date of the 6th of June, 2011. Please contact Josh Miller at 720-254-4165 for free tickets, which will be mailed to attendees free of postage.
