Adams and Broomfield Counties, CO – More than $47,600 was raised at the 9th Annual CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Classic Golf Tournament held on May 25, 2011 at Hyland Hills Golf Course in Westminster , CO . One-hundred and fifty-two golfers teed off in support of CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties and its work in recruiting, training and supervising community volunteers to advocate on behalf of children who have been abused and neglected.
This year’s event featured nationally renowned, 7-year-old golf prodigy Brayden Bozak, who offered participating golfers the opportunity to test their skills against him. None were able to rival Bozak’s abilities, but all were winners in their effort to raise much needed funds for CASA and its efforts. Although no one golfer was able to prove to be a match for Bozak, golfers competed head-to-head in three categories on the course. The friendly competition produced two winning teams. First place awards went to winners Brad Clawson, Kyle Tawara, Jeff Clawson and Scott in the men’s division. Pam Prescott, Antelia Ball, Kristy Tochihara and Tanya Haave claimed the first place title in the women’s division.
In addition to a great day on the course, golfers enjoyed lunch provided by Outback Steakhouse and dessert provided by The Bagel Bakery & Cupcake Shoppe.
The golf tournament was made possible by the generous support of the following Guardian Angel/Friend of CASA Sponsors: Adams County District Attorney Don Quick; Adams County Sheriff Doug Darr; Adams County Commissioners Alice Nichol, Skip Fischer & Eric Hansen.
