Toys will also be collected at the Chamber’s ‘Business After Hours’ Event on December 2nd, which will be held at Horizons North Credit Union located at 11455 Pearl Street in Northglenn from 4:30 – 6:30 PM.

“For the past 20 years the Metro North Chamber has been sharing the holiday spirit with children throughout the region through its annual Toy Drive ,” said Deborah Obermeyer, President and CEO of the Chamber. “This year we are expanding the Toy Drive in partnership with The Orchard Town Center to provide for even more children holiday cheer and to encourage individuals to stop by our new ‘ Business & Community Connection Center ’.”

The Chamber is in the process of moving offices to a new state-of-the art facility complete with a Conference & Training Center and a Business Resource Center that will help increase the support it provides to businesses and ultimately to the community. This year is all about moving to the next level. Fitting, the Chamber’s theme for 2011 is ‘Oh, the places your business [and community] will go… with the Metro North Chamber!’

“In addition to advocating on behalf of the best interests of businesses at the local, state and federal level, the Metro North Chamber works hard to ensure that we are supporting businesses so that they can thrive,” added Obermeyer. “When businesses thrive, then so too does the community. Businesses provide jobs… income and amenities that then lead to a better quality of life for folks. In alignment with our objectives we are increasing and expanding ALL of our efforts… including our Toy Drive .”

Toys will be donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Adams & Broomfield Counties, a non-profit that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who speak on behalf of abused and neglected children. CASA kids are children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect and are in foster care or are being monitored by Health & Human Services.

“Toys provided by the Toy Drive will be given to children who normally would not have any type of a gift during the holidays,” said Simone Jones, Executive Director of CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties. “These are children who unfortunately do not have a safe, warm family environment. Giving them a reason to smile, even for a moment, is a true gift. The toys will truly be appreciated.”

The Chamber is celebrating its move to the new Metro North Chamber ‘ Business & Community Connection Center ’ in partnership with The Orchard Town Center with a super-sized ‘Share the Spirit’ Toy Drive . Community members are encouraged to stop by the new Metro North Chamber ‘ Business & Community Connection Center to donate a toy.
